| Q1: What are Negative Ions?
|
They're oxygen atoms with an extra electron. And they can help you feel better.
Technically speaking: "Ions are charged particles in the air that are formed in
nature when enough energy acts upon a molecule such as carbon dioxide, oxygen,
water, or nitrogen to eject an electron from the molecule leaving a positively
charged Ion. The displaced electron attaches itself to a nearby molecule, which
then becomes a negatively charged Ion. It is the negative ion of oxygen that
affects us the most."

|
Q2: What Negative Ions can do for you?
|
The negative ions cause microscopic particles (particulates)
floating in a room, that cause some people to have allergic reactions, to clump
together and fall to the floor (or other surfaces) where they can be vacuumed
up. This is due to an electrostatic charge between the negative ions and other
air molecules and particles in the air. Negative ions are effective for
allergies, asthma, catarrh, hay fever, sinusitus, eczema, burns, emphysema.,
and people tend to feel more alert, stable and energized in the presence of
negative ions.

|
Q3: What are the Causes and effects of negative ion exposure and depletion?
|
EFFECTS OF NEGATIVE ION EXPOSURE : A high
negative ion exposure appeared associated with feeling better about self, less
sensitive, and more responsive or innervated (energized). The introduction of
negative ion generation increased the subjective rating of alertness,
atmospheric freshness, and environmental and personal warmth.
CAUSES OF NEGATIVE ION DEPLETION
The picture tubes (CRTs) in computer monitors and TVs deplete the air of
negative ions. So does the airflow through furnace ducts and air conditioning
systems. Research has also shown that polluted areas both indoors and outdoors
have very low levels of negative ions, and very high levels of positive ions.
It would seem that all or most of the available negative ions had been used up
in their fight with contaminants. Dry hot winds (like the famed Santa Ana, or
Witches' Winds) also deplete negative ions from the air.

Q4: Is there any scientific evidence to prove salt lamp / tealights
effectiveness?
|
A series of scientific studies show that salt crystal lamps / tealights can
increase the negative ion count by up to 300%. Generally, a negative ion is an
electronically charged molecule made up of oxygen. In fresh country air we find
up to 4000 negative ions per cubic centimeter, however the number of negative
ions in major capital cities at rush hour does not even reach 100. The impact
of negative ion is powerful. Originally, it was found to speed recovery in burn
or asthma patients, but was later discovered to affect serotonin levels in the
bloodstream, stabilize alpha rhythms and to positively impact our reactions to
sensory stimuli.

Q5: How does house pets behave with salt lamps / tealights? / Is it hazardous?
|
Sometimes household pets (mostly dogs) instinctively lick the lamps / tealights
to replenish minerals in their bodies. Salt lamps / tealights is not intended
for consumption, however it is made out 100% natural salt and is not hazardous
to health.

|
Q6: What is the origin of our salt lamp / tealights?
|
Our lamps / tealights come from the salt mines in and around Khewara, Himalayan
range, Pakistan.
"The historic Salt Mine in Khawarah - Pakistan, is the only site in the world
where mining has continued since the Middle Ages. Lying on many levels, its
original excavations (longitudinal's, traverses, chambers, lakes, as well as
lesser and major shafts) stretch for the total of 300 kilometers: reaching the
depth of 327 meters they illustrate all the stages of the development of the
mining technology over time."

Q7: What are the Therapeutic Uses of Crystal Salt?
|
Long term scientific research into the effects of salt mine microclimate on
human health resulted in establishment of underground sanatoria, mostly in
Eastern Europe. They have long been recognized and used in treatments of
allergies, respiratory and blood system diseases as well as rheumatism.
Now you can also have a mini "salt mine" or create this "microclimate" in your
home, a place where you need it most.

Q8: How salt lamp works?
|
Just place one in a room and plug it in. Even before the ionization process
begins, you'll be uplifted by the Rock Salt Lamp's inner glow which is quite
transfixing, especially in a darkened room. After twenty minutes, the rock is
warm to the touch. Heat is absorbed by the Salt Crystal from a small light bulb
discreetly fixed and concealed above its base in a hewn cavity, which adds to
its mysterious charms. The heated salt crystal pulls water molecules from the
air to its surface, the salt goes into the solution of the water, neutralizes
any positive ions (and the attached pollution), and emits the neutralized
molecule back into the environment.

|
Q9: Does Salt lamps / tealights really control the humidity level of the
Environment?
|
Salt lamps / tealights absorbs excessive humidity in the environment (only
excessive) so to improve the quality of environment. (Environment with
excessive humidity have higher germ growth rate, metal is more vulnerable to
rust, and breathing may be difficult)

|
Q10: How long will my lamp / tealight last ?
|
As long as your lamps / tealights is kept out of humid situations, such as out
of doors, or near open windows in a humid area, the salt itself is 250 million
years old, and should last another 250 million years.

|
Q11: At least how salt lamps / tealights are claimed to be more beneficial than
other lamps / tealights?
|
It's because of the extra-ordinary value of the salt lamps / tealights crystal.
Rock Salt Crystal 's surface is naturally mystic and appealing. The physics of
salt crystal says, it posses the property of scattering light evenly, emitting
a more ambient like effect in the environment. Secondly, Salt Rock Crystal
performs anti-septic action against the air-borne and skin-borne (Epidermis)
bacteria and virus. Also it provides care for the breathing problems that might
generate through positive ions in the environment generated by electric
appliances, and also helps curing Asthma.

Q12: What size must a Salt Lamp be to give the best results ?
|
For a room size of 64 square feet, a lamp of about 5-7lbs, for 100 square feet
8-9lbs, 144 square feet a lamp of about 10-12lbs, for 225 square feet 14-20lbs
to get the optimum result. You can use several small lamps or tea lights
instead as long as they amount to the same respective weight.

|
Q13: Should I keep my Salt Lamp on all the time? |
To get the best effect, keeping the lamp on as
long as possible is recommended. Leaving any electrical unit unattended is not
advised.

| |
| Q14: Does the electric bill go up if the lamps stay on all the
time?
|
The Lamps come with a 15 watt bulb and from my experience with them; I have not
noticed the electric bill go up, even with several of them staying lit all the
time.

| Q15: Is there a difference between quality of salt lamps and
why do prices vary?
|
Absolutely! Not all crystal salt lamps are
created equal. There are different grades of salt crystal on the market. Our
sorting plant daily processes several tons of salt, of which only about 10% are
shipped to us as top quality lights. The Cheaper priced lamps you will find are
the lamps we do not and will not bring in. Quality lamps in the long run cost
less. Each shipment is subject to in-depth quality control, measured by
independent laboratories and approved with test and batch numbers.
Remember there are different qualities of salt products, you can
rest assured we have taken all of the necessary steps to bring you the best
one. That's a promise.
Your Satisfaction is 100% Guaranteed.
